Paris restaurant suggestion for birthday

Hello,
We will be celebrating my husband's 30th birthday in Paris this April. I haven't been in ~15 years and it will be his first time. Looking for restaurant suggestions for a special occasion (romantic, memorable) -- up to 90 euros pp including wine and dessert (but can be less). His birthday is a Thursday, and it will be our first real day in Paris, so we were planning on doing the Rick Steves walking tour (any somewhat central neighborhood would work).

Thanks!

I think Le Ciel du Paris on the top of the Montparnasse Tower is a great special occasion restaurant. Food is good and a good value, and the view can't be beat.

A few years ago I ate at Les Ombres, which has one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower. The food and service were also impeccable. It's pricey, but memorable.

We had a lunch at Les Ombres for my birthday one year and that is good -- but probably a bit over your budget.

Same with la Tour d'Argent. We celebrated our anniversary with lunch there this fall. The food was 85 for the menu and was excellent; wine is pricey on top of that and absolutely if you go don't let them add an extra like a glass of champagne -- big bucks there. I reserved 90 days out and got the best table in the house in the window overlooking Notre Dame. Views are pretty good from all over, but that one was spectacular.

If Bofinger has an affordable menu it is also a spectacular room as is Le Train Bleu.

to have it both fancy and keep the budget under control, lunch is the right choice. It is at great places almost always much cheaper for similar meals than dinner.

Located in Gare de Lyon, this huge restaurant is an authentic event for its lavish décor. Order a la carte or fixed-price menus from 49 to 110 euros. Massive selection on the cheese tray. More adventurous value-for-money cuisine can be found elsewhere but the setting is memorable.

I think one choice is do you want a spectacular house or is it just the food. There are lots of great little places for the food within your budget e.g. La Cordonnerie is one of our favorites (near the Tuilleries), a little place in Montmartre on Rue Caulaincourt called Bistrot Maquis, Agrume in the 5th or Chez Dumonet Josephine for a terrific Beouf Bourguignon and lovely grand marnier souffle to share in a classic room. I think all of these have pleasant ambience but not the over the top spectacular views or rooms of places like Bofinger, Le Train Bleu, Les Ombres.
