Paris patisserie, please

Hello,
The last time we were in Paris we went to a magnificent patisserie/Boulangerie on rue Mouffetard in the 5th arr. called Anthony Bosson (recommended on this forum) where we tried Kouign-aman for the first time. It was delectably amazing! We also had their yummy almond croissant (loved it) and a couple other pastries.

Now that we’re ending our next trip in Paris again, I looked for it, but it looks like it’s closed permanently.

Now I know one can find really great patisseries on almost every block in Paris, but not all of them offer the Kouign-aman and almond croissant, so I’m now in search of recommendations (preferably in the 5th arr. so we can stumble there for coffee in the morning) that offer these mouth-watering favorites, si’l vous plaît ;)

You could try Maison Mulot in the 6th!

And with all of these marvelous suggestions, bookmarking this very important conversation!

The best pastry I had in Paris was a cake at Aux Mervilleuve de Fred. There's one in the Marais and one in St. Germain. The cakes are light, not too sweet and come in various sizes and flavors. Delicious!

In January, we stayed in the 2nd and went to The French Bastards for their flat whites and pastries. They offer Kouign-Amann but I'm unsure of the almond croissants. The French Bastards is also in the 4th but not in the 5th. In the 2nd, at least, they baked right there. The smell when you open the door!!! https://thefrenchbastards.fr/en

Blé Sucre in the 12th on the r. Antoine Vollon has them. But they go fast. They're understandably very popular.

Blé Sucre

Funny, 'cause that rhymes in English - "Sweet Wheat!"

You clearly need to start following the writings of David Lebovitz. He is the non plus ultra of Paris food recommendations. For your amazing Kouign Amann, look no further than Georges Larnicol, which has several locations.

Here's an older article by David L. about this fabulous place - https://www.davidlebovitz.com/larnicol-kouign-amann-in-paris/. When I go to Paris, I stock up and put these in the freezer.

I stopped by Georges Larnicol's Saint-Germain location in April for some mini Kouign. The service was shameful and, unfortunately, the pastries were stale. I threw them out.

La Maison d'Isabelle in the 5em on Blvd. Saint-Germain near Rue Monge has excellent croissants. Never been disappointed.

Along Rue des Martyrs (9th arr), highly recommend Sebastien Gaudard [22] for all things airy and buttery.

I used to actually go to Rue Mouffetard for that perfect Koign aman and then to get the great butter at Beillevaire. And the bake shop we got the kouign aman at has indeed been permanently closed our last two trips. You can find this Breton pastry f rom time to time in bakeries but it is rarely the perfection typical in Brittany but some approximation. I found a baker at the bio market in Battignolles on Saturdays that had them but then that booth stopped showing up at the market. Not easy to find in Paris as it is a Breton specialty. I think the shop I visited may have been different than your baker -- it was actually on a side street near the Censier Daubenton stop -- but it is closed too.

The other elusive pastry is the fabulous chausson citron -- I have found that in only one bakery and often go there just to have this delight for breakfast. It is like the chausson pomme but with lemon curd instead of applesauce.

I live in the 16e and in the neighborhood of Passy (which I find among the most charming of the city) there is Chez Meunier (which can be found in other places, too - We actually saw one on Trouville the other day). They have such an amazing tarte au citron meringuée that you buy by weight. Not to mention the old-school beignets with with apple, strawberry, or Chocolate filling.
