Paris Pass or Paris Museum Pass?

Hello all,

What's the feeling here: Paris Pass OR Paris Museum Pass?

Paris Museum Pass is the one we recommend. Metro tickets (such as a carnet of 10 tickets for the price of 8) or a weekly Monday-Sunday Pass Navigo are cheaper ways to cover transport.

What I would do if I were you, is to add up all the ticket prices as if you were purchasing the tickets on their own. And if the total cost does not exceed the price of the pass, then purchase the tickets on their own.

Last summer, my friend and I were in Paris for 5 days - went to the Eiffel Tower, the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre, and Les Arts Décoratifs. The cost of all tickets were so much more less expensive than the pass.

We were thinking of getting the pass too, because we liked the idea of not planning to be at a certain place at a certain time and to just "go" whenever we felt like "going" and so if we had the pass we didn't have to wait in line. But we didn't, and bought individual tickets instead and we did not have to wait in very long lines at all (we still had to wait in a line - I think the longest we waited was 20 minutes, but it was the Eiffel Tower). You just have to make sure you arrive on time as it is printed on your ticket.

At the Palace of Versailles, we bought tickets to a private tour - that is why we didn't wait in a very long line.

Museum Pass YES. Paris Pass -- probably not. But it's all in the details -- if you don't want to see lots of museums, neither is the best use of your money.

I am totally against VIATOR tours for Paris. We had a booking with them. We were asked to come to a point. We couldn't find it so we called them. They asked us to wait wherever we were and that they would come and take us. We waited but they didn't come. After calling 5-6 times, the 7th time they said they can't do anything about it. The tour guide has left. After a lot of talking, they asked us to collect the tickets from their office and that we can go inside but without the guide. When we reached the office, we found out that they were out of tickets. They were sorry about it and asked us to come the next day. When we reached the meeting point next day, we called them cause the guide wasn't there. They asked us to wait for a few minutes and that the guide could be there any minute. When we didn't see anybody around, we called them again so then they realised that it's a Tuesday and the museum was shut. And they were sorry about being careless AGAIN. This is not how a good company works. VIATOR- Please Ask your people not to be so careless and spoil the tourist's money and time. I will not recommend VIATOR

Paris Pass, no way. For what you get, about 40% of the price is marketing costs and profit for the promoters. Get the Paris Museum pass separately, and transport tickets, either a Navigo Decouverte or carnets, depending on how long you are there and where you are going.

When you buy a Paris Pass, one of its components is the ordinary Paris Museum Pass. The Museum Pass is often a good idea for a first visit where you will visit many of its included monuments and museums. The Paris Pass is not a good deal -- it includes the ridiculously overpriced Paris Visite Transport pass which is 95% of the time a poor choice and then they add a mark up.
