I recently had a terrible experience with the Paris Pass. I paid for five days of travel, but they gave me a card for only one day. The next day, it didn't work. I went to the metro office and they gave me a new card. The following day, it didn't work again. I went to the metro office and they took my card and made me purchase a new one. I finally made it back to Gare du Nord to the travel booth, but they were closed, although they were still inside. They would not respond to my desperate knocking. (I should mention that I am a senior and was using a cane at the time, so getting there at all was quite difficult for me.) I waited by the door until they left the kiosk and told them what happened. They told me that they did not issue the travel cards, that this sometimes happened, but that what I said about the metro keeping my card was "impossible." They were very rude to me. I have filed a dispute with my credit card, Capital One, and they are asking me for some form of corroboration. Has anyone else had this or a similar experience? Thank you.
One possibility is that the Paris Visite pass that comes with this very overpriced tourist rip off was demagnetized which happens easily if you have a magnetic clasp on a purse or pocket. I used to demagnetize metro tickets all the time because my travel coat has magnetic pockets and I didn't realize this was an issue.
I would not expect the vendor to be able to do anything for you if you can't give them back the card that didn't work.
