Paris Museum Pass in September

We will be in Paris for 3 full days in September and are planning to get the museum pass. I think we may get the 4 day pass even though we will only have 3 days to use it. It's not double the cost of a 2 day pass. Any suggestions on it's value and best place to buy? We are landing at CDG terminal 3 and taking the RER from there to Paris. Pass is not sold in terminal 3 from what I have read. We would have to go to #2. So buying in Paris seems more reasonable - at Ste. Chapelle maybe?

Sainte Chapelle is quite busy so you may have to wait a while at the ticket desk. My recommendation would be to buy your pass from a branch of the French media/technology/books chain FNAC: they sell Paris Museum Passes with no extra mark-up and they're all over central Paris.

You could fill one day with sights not included on Paris Museum Pass - Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame.
We bought our passes at Cluny Museum no problem.

If you don't get one at the airport then pick a less visited museum on the list like the Cluny. The pass generally doesn't do you any good at Ste. CHapelle i.e. usually you stand in the same long security line as everyone else, but this is not entirely consistent. You definitely want it before heading for the Orsay where passholders use the short security line; same at Orangerie and you can use the Richelieu entrance at the Louvre. September is the busiest hotel month in Paris -- so it is a wise purchase.

If planning visits to Notre Dame Towers and St Chapelle then its best to make these a 'first stop'.
And consider late closings at Louvre (Wed,Fri), Orsay (Thu), Quai Branly (Thu,Fri,Sat), Pompidou (ex Tue).

There's a TI kiosk in the plaza in front of Notre Dame. If you stand with your back to the Cathedral, it's on the right near the far end of the square. You can buy the pass there. It's a 5-minute walk to Sainte-Chapelle or the Conciergerie or to the line for the entrance to the Notre Dame towers.

Museum Des Artes Decoratifs rarely has a line, if so, less than 5 minutes. You can purchase a Museum Pass from here. Location:
With the Louvre/Pyramid to your back and opposite side of the traffic circle that is in front of the Louvre at 1 O'Clock is the Museum. You can walk under the small archway and cut through the grass/park that everyone is usually laying on and head to the entrance.

Don't just buy the Pass there and walk out, there are some great rooms from different periods of French history. My absolute highlight was Jeanne Lanvin's art deco apartment, but it depends what your favourite era is.
