Paris Orly Airport to Bayonne in October

We land at ORLY at 8:40AM. It looks like our best bet is to get to Montparnasse train station to get a nonstop to Bayonne.
How much time do we need to get through customs and travel to the train station? I’m thinking catching the 2PM train just to be safe.

There is also a flight on Transavia Airline from ORLY to Biarritz at 10:30 or 4:45. How much time would we need if staying at ORLY to fly out?
Suggestions or other recommendations would be appreciated.

Allotting 3 to 4 hours between your flight’s ETA and the departure time of your plane is the advice that I usually see. You should be fine for the 2 PM train. Where are flying into Orly from and will you have checked luggage? Customs is a walk through for most people but if you have to go through passport control and collect luggage, I think making the 10:30 flight is not likely.

We are flying from Newark with carry on only.
I see the train is a safer bet but is making the 10:30 Transavia flight doable with an ETA landing in ORLY at 8:40?

Since you will have to go through passport control, if I were in your shoes, I would not plan on making the flight but I hate rushed connections, especially ones that are unprotected. Assuming your flight arrives on time and assuming that boarding for the 10:30 flight ends about 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time, that gives you 1 hour and 35 minutes to exit your flight, go through passport control, and get to your gate. There are so many variables. How long will it take to deboard? How long will the wait be at passport control? Which terminal are you arriving in versus where is your departure terminal. I have gotten through passport control at Orly in 15 minutes and also gotten through in 45 minutes. 95 minutes for an unprotected connection seems like a tight window to me but others may disagree.
