paris on easter weekend

Hi, all.

I'm taking the RSE best of Paris tour that starts on Easter Sunday 2019 as a solo traveler. I'm flying in a day early so will have that Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning free. I'm assuming everything will be open on sat as normal.

However, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for Easter Sunday morning? I'm an early riser and will probably want to be out and about but am unsure what to do due to the holiday. (not interested in going to services.)

Also, if you've taken the tour at Easter, did they change any of the standard itinerary due to the holidays?

thanks

I was in Sicily for Easter 2017. Schedule did not vary from the plan, although we did see some processions during the week and on Easter.

I've been in France several times on Easter Sunday. Plenty of places were open in the morning; at least places that involved food.

Day 1: Welcome to Paris

We'll gather at our hotel in Paris at 3 p.m. for a short meeting and orientation stroll around our neighborhood, followed by a panoramic tour of the City of Light aboard a private bus. Then we'll get acquainted with one another over a delicious "Welcome to Paris" dinner together. Sleep in Paris (6 nights). Bus: 2 hours. Walking: light.

Given the Sunday itinerary, I see no reason there would be a change because it is Easter.

Contacting the RS office would be the best way to get a definitive answer.

Actually, I do not expect the itinerary to change on Easter. But perhaps Monday as that is also a holiday? Also, Pesach (Passover) is that week so places in the Marais might be closed too? I was just wondering if anyone taking the Paris tour during Easter/Passover week in the past saw any changes to the schedule?

Also, I do realize I can call the office but I think it's too early for them to know. I think someone who took the tour before is a better indicator.

thanks

Your tour next year will NOT be the 1st time RS has had a tour in Paris during Easter.

It happens every year.

They have a plan.

Easter Monday is a holiday in France, but not a terribly big one. Banks and public offices are closed, and the kids are away from school, but it won't really affect a tourist (unless you wanted to go to the post office to send a postcard!). Do check the websites of sites you'd like to see on Easter Monday to be SURE they won't be closed but it's mostly just the museums that will normally be closed on Monday will be closed on that Monday -- not that other museums will switch their 'closed' days to take the holiday off.
