My family will be on the Paris and the Heart of France tour next April. We will be arriving several days early for the tour and staying one extra night. I am looking for recommendations of local food tours/guides for our stay ahead who will complement and not duplicate the RS tour plans.

Paris Greeters can connect you with a local person who will take you on a custom tour. You indicate your interests and, after some email with your Greeter, the person takes you to where they think is something of interest to you. I did this. I took the metro to meet my Greeter. She then took me on a stroll around Parc Monceau and the upscale neighborhood nearby, showed me a place where the Statue of Liberty was supposedly created. Of course all the while giving me history or local information on what we were seeing. All very casual.
