Few métro stations have sales windows. Almost all sales are now handled through kiosks which have menus in English. Purchase the card at the kiosk, take the receipt to the service window and staff there will exchange the receipt for the actual card. Most personnel will also assemble the parts for you. They even have scissors to trim your photos if so required.

Be sure to print your name in the space provided.

Kiosks accept chipped credit cards or coins. All stations should have at least one bill changer if you do not have sufficient coins.

The card is 5€. Next take the card to the kiosk, follow the instructions (available in English) and load an appropriate fare onto the card. The weekly zone 1-5 fare is 22.80€. Weeks always start on Monday and end on the following Sunday. Fares for the current week may be loaded starting from the previous Friday and continue through the following Thursday. After Thursday, fares may not be loaded for the current week.

Metro stations don't have sales windows. So buy it on the machine; it will give you a little ticket and take that to the info window where the clerk will give you the card (or card kit -- it is 3 pieces). Then go back to the machine and put the pass on it. Assemble the kit, write your name below your photo (print), put the plastic flap over picture and name and sandwiches with the chip card and slide into the holder. To re-charge an existing ND card, you just put it on the swirly patch on the machine and follow the instructions for a day, week or monthly pass. The only hassle would be if the station was out of card kits, in which case you would have to get one at another station.
