Paris - Navigo card strategy

I arrive from London by train, at Gare du Nord. Arriving Saturday afternoon. I will need to get to airbnb in Puteaux, La Defense area.

Staying for 8 nights, departing via Orly. Never go near CDG. Planning to visit Versailles but not Disney. Probably at least one other trip outside the city.

My thinking is: Buy Navigo Easy and load 5 or so t+ tickets to manage the 1/2 Saturday and all Sunday travel. (Not planning to leave central Paris.)

Buy Navigo weekly pass for following Monday-Sunday.

Monday departure from Orly, I can load necessary t+ tickets and and Orlybus ticket on Nav. Easy, and depart.

Does the above sound reasonable? Any better ideas?

The US passport photo is 5x5 cm. Can it be trimmed down to meet the 3x2.5cm weekly pass photo requirement?

Yes, that sounds good fir the Easy and the Navigo decouverte. I’ve not flown out of Orky so no advice there. You can probably do the Weekly Navigo at the same time you do your Easy if it’s not busy. Otherwise you can get it at any manned station on Sunday or Monday. I can never get my VISA card to work in the self service machines so I go to a window.

You may want to just load a carnet of 10 onto your Easy then you’ll be set next time!

You can just photocopy your passport photo and yes, trim it down.

I would not bother with the Easy but would just get a few tickets unless you think you will actually use 10 t+ tickets in that time -- I wouldn't.

I'd get the ND for the full week and do my out of town travel then.

Janet, I know you’re fairly fluent in French and you know I’m not, lol. I noticed yesterday at “my” Metro station they had signs taped over the slots for the turnstile paper ticket feed. I meant to take a photo of the signage and look it up later but forgot. I wasn’t sure when they were going to stop taking the paper tickets? I did not notice it at any other stations’ turnstiles.

I'm not fluent in French, I clod along. But since RER tickets are still paper, all metros HAVE to take paper tickets. There are always turnstiles that take paper and you can still buy paper tickets in the machines. You just can't get the carnet discount on paper.
