Paris - Navigo

We have Navigo passes from a few years ago. Are they reloadable? or do we need to purchase a whole new pass? If not, how much is a weekly renewal?

The Navigo is valid for 10 years and can be reloaded for €22.80 for 5 zones.

Thanks. One other question, are they transferable? My husband and I will be traveling with a different set of kids. 😀

They aren't transferable; that is why they have pictures on them. You might get away with it, but if you get caught the fine will be about 50 Euro on the spot. Get the kids their own -- it is just 5 Euro.

Your cards (should) have both a photo and a signature on them. How can you transfer them to someone else?

Oops! (guess I need to remember that tone of voice isn’t reflected in messages, but I feel duly chastised 😏). I forgot they had a signature and when we got ours they let us use them the first time without a photo. And our photos were just stickers, unlike other transit passes we’ve used elsewhere. But I guess I got my info 😛

Not signatures, it´s not a contract. The bearer´s name should be printed in the space provided.

Yes, you're right Tocard. I knew the name of the bearer had to be on it.

If you were allowed to use them without the picture you were lucky; I have read several reports of people whining that they were fined for so doing. The whole point was that they are not transferable. But I don't get why people would want to cheat especially for so little payoff.
