I bought two four day museum passes about two weeks ago when we touched town in CDG. Plans changed, and we never validated them / started them / used them.
I sent an e-mail via their website two weeks ago but have not got a response.
I feel like these are good for as long as they remain unchanged in duration (2, 4, X days). But is there a set 'the passes must be validated within N days of purchase' guidelines?
No. You can use them until they make a change. FWIW the same color passes have been used for a number of years.
On the website I can only find a remark that you can't use the previous Cartes Musee-Monuments which was in 1, 3 and 5 day increments.

i know I'll be back in Paris, but I don't know when. It will likely be within 2 years.
No, you were right...the current passes are 2, 4 or 6 days.
The one I mentioned is the one that is no longer able to be used and it had a 3-day option.
There is a meet-up in Atlanta occasionally but if you are going to be back in 2 years I'd just keep them until then. It's a great reason to return to Paris!
If you didn't write in your names and a date, anyone can use them. I think you could even sell them.
