May sound crazy but the thought is to get passes for all of us to save the potentially long "free kid passes" line. Thoughts?
Merci,
Scott

There are no kid pass lines at the major museums; they just walk in with you. The only exceptions I know of are Invalides and the Arc de Triomphe which don't have the worst lines anyway. At the Orsay, Louvre, Pompidou, Orangerie etc etc the kid just walks in with you. If they are older teens be sure they carry a copy of their passport.
Total waste of money. I have used it with my kids. There was only one place I had to get child a free ticket,at the Invalids Army Museum( which was excellent) and there were on!y a few people in line there,as always( I have been that 3-4 times now, always in high season)
They walk in with you at all the big line places like Louvre, Or say and Versailles.
As I said, total waste of money to get one for kids.
I was recently in Paris and had a museum pass - I still had to wait in long lines because you have to go through security screening at almost all of these places.
Many museums have separate security screen lines for passholders. The Orangerie and Orsay have separate lines that are much shorter, sometimes non existent, for pass holders. I have always just walked into the Orsay whereas those without tickets can wait up to two hours. There is also an entrance for passholders at the Louvre and of course passholders skip the long ticket lines at Versailles although they do have the same security line as everyone else.
When my daughter was 4 1/2 and 5, I don't remember buying her a pass. I had a pass and I also bought a Louvre family membership which can be used by two adults and three kids. Good for a year!
I seem to recall requiring a free kid ticket for the l'Arc de Triomphe. Not needed for Louvre as the big lines outside are for security, tickets are purchased separately by standing in another line ( or buying from a machine?). I had the family membership the last two visits so not sure if require free kids ticket.
Orsay lines are marked with letters denoting passes, and no passes. Not sure if you need a free kid ticket. Or if you can get one after standing in pass holders line.
L'Orangerie always has a long line for those without tickets and no line for pass holders. I think the line was for security and you could get a ticket, if needed, without to much of a wait after security.
Check the websites for the sites you wish to see. Many have English versions if your French is rusty/non-existent.
