Paris Museum Pass

I have tried to get a Paris Museum Pass and it will not accept my bank cards nor two of my sister's. We have called our banks and they can see no reason why they are not accepted. We get a message back from the museum that due to an outside provider that they use to process charge cards it is not compatible with their system. Has anyone else had this problem recently?

Thank You.

You do not need to buy the Paris Museum Pass ahead of time. You can easily buy them in Paris when you are there. If you want to make museum reservations now, you can do it without having first purchased the PMP. Simply choose the Museum Pass option when making the online reservation/purchase and show the PMP when entering the museum.

I agree with Mary. No need to buy ahead of time. Just get it at your first museum OR if there is a Tabac in your neighborhood near your hotel you can get them there.

I'm sure you've done the math on whether this is a good fit for your trip or not. For myself, even though y visits are museum heavy, I found it worked out just as well for me to just buy timed entries to the museums I want to visit. Before Summer 2019 when the rules changed I used to get one every trip and then during Covid many museums went to timed entries to control numbers so you couldn't just go on the spur of the moment. YMMV, of course, as we all travel differently.

The Museum Pass has no value unless you actually will save a lot of money with it. So do the math. You get no benefits of multiple entrances, or line advantage having it and many museums like the Louvre and Versailles require reservations made ahead to use it. The Louvre in particular restricts the number of tickets available for pass holders.
