Paris Museum Pass

Hello:

I have been trying to reserve time slots for sites in Paris. I do have the Paris Museum Pass. I'm stumped. I've tried 5 different sites, just to see if not being about to book on one was a fluke. I've been successful with none - the ones that require timed reservations and the ones that don't.

Somewhere on this forum a member wrote that the d'Orsay has a dedicated phone line for pass holders. Does anyone know it please? Or perhaps even more helpful, a phone number for Paris Museum Passes generally? Gong to the Help functions on the Pass site or Site links offers a couple of questions that might be what you wish answered, but not ones useful to me..

I'll be so relieved if someone can help.

Thank you,
Cheryl

Unfortunately I am not in Paris. If so I think I would go to one of the sites and request help. Is that what you were going to suggest?

But I just did a logical thing - used a different browser. Silly me. So I've got one. Phew. Will carry on.

You don't need a time slot with the pass a the Orsay

for the louvre there are limited numbers of slots for Museum Pass holders and so they sell out earlier for that then for people buying tickets.

Right Janet. But does "Don't need" mean "Can't get"?

I guess I misunderstood. I thought that there were those 7 sites in Paris that have compulsory reservation of time slots, and it is wise to reserve times at the other sites covered by the Pass. Is that incorrect?

I don't think so. If a reservation was not required, we did not make one and just showed our Paris Museum Pass. I don't even know if you can make a reservation for those sites that don't require it if you have a pass. I'm not clear on what advantage there would be to make a reservation for those sites that don't require it. Perhaps someone else can answer that.

Bonjour:
I don't know either but am guessing that one might scoot past a line of people waiting to buy their entry tickets.
Thank you again,
Cheryl

Whenever I’ve used the Paris Museum Pass, you were always able to skip the line to buy admission tickets. It’s only the security lines that you still have to line up for before entering the museum.

The Orsay has about 6 different lines and the line monitor will put you in the right line. I think but don't know for sure that PMP holders just enter with the next batch of tickets i.e. the current half hour slot line.

The only people who skip those long lines post COVID at the Orsay are those with the expensive Carte Blanche pass which is only worth it if you are here for awhile and will make several trips. We bought such a membership for the Louvre this trip and we have a friend with guest privileges on their Carte Blanche for the Orsay.

The dedicated phone line that Cheryl mentions for pass holders at the Orsay might mean the Carte Blanche pass holders, not the Paris Museum Pass holders. I can't imagine (but may be way off base here) the museum having a dedicated phone line for a company like Paris Museum Pass, not really an Orsay outfit, but a prepaid ticket outfit for several museums.

Thanks to everyone. I know more now and feel more calm. :)
I look forward to a time when I may have information that I can contribute to the questions of others.

if you HAVE to pre book (Louvre, let's say) and it asks for a PMP number, you just enter like 9 zeros, they don't check.
