Paris Muserum Pass /Under 18

Hello-
I have a 17 year old in my family of 4. It is my understanding that he does not need to purchase tickets for museums or monuments.
We are going to purchase 3 adult Paris Museum Passes. My question is will he be required to pick up a non-purchased ticket to be admitted into the sites? I ask because that was the case in some sites in Italy.

It seems we have to purchase the tickets for the Louvre from a 3rd party, because there are no time entry slots available for our dates on line. I realize the museum pass can be used to enter the Louve, but we will not be admitted because there are not timed slots left. Will the 17th year old be admitted, if we do not purchase a ticket from the 3rd party for him? Will he be allowed to go in with us if we show proof of age?

Thank you for your help!

You can probably reserve a free ticket for the 17 year old for the Louvre on line.

Any place that requires timed tickets usually also requires a free ticket for the kid; I know the Louvre does, my recollection is that the Orsay doesn't.

I would seriously reconsider buying museum passes -- they now offer zero advantages and many disadvantages. e.g. the Louvre has few slots for pass holders and lots of slots for those buying. If you are going to have to buy tickets from a middleman anyway why bother with a pass.

It offers zero line advantage or multiple visits. The only reason to get one is if you have costed out your itinerary and will save substantially with the pass.
