Paris metro tickets

Haven't been to Paris in three years. Last trip a communication failure between my husband and me resulted in 43 extra metro tickets and 2 RER tickets to CDG left over at the end of our trip!...Don't ask how....
Think they are still good? I vaguely remember a question like this at the time and someone said good till they change the ticket system. I am hopeful to be able to use them and to put the entire mess-up to rest.

Ha ha to the "communication failure" - those tend to happen when you have been married a few years, don't they? ;-) Been there, experienced those.

Unfortunately, this is one question I cannot answer, though I would love to know the answer - I have a few t+ tickets left as well because I was a bonehead and did not purchase exactly what I had stated on these forums I would!!

All the best with your tickets - 43 extra? Wow!!

In September I was able to use metro tickets I had brought home from a trip 3 years earlier.

colleen,

this is how im wired and think about things like this.

What will it hurt to bring them with you? I guess if they are the size of an unabridged dictionary,it may not be worth it to do so, but if they are anything like i have from my first trip, it wouldnt hurt to try.

happy trails.

We have brought home unused carnet tickets and used them successfully on a next trip to Paris. Most recently we did this 3 years ago. The longest gap between using extra tickets on a return visit was about 5 years. I don't know about your RER ticket but it is worth asking.

The metro tickets are supposed to last forever even if the color of the tickets has changed. If you are sure that they have not been used and they do not work because they have been demagnetized, you can get them switched at a staffed metro station. With respect to expiration, the same is true for the RER tickets.

They are good 'forever'. I have used tickets that were years old. If a ticket doesn't work, it might have become demagnetized. The agent at the vend or info window will replace unused tickets that don't work. It is important to not expose the tickets to magnets (purses, on pockets of jackets etc)

yup. I used some old purple ones (getting a bit ancient) last year.

Super! Thanks all - I was intending on bringing them but thought it would be nice to put the entire "unresolved issue" to rest now and not have to wait till October!
