We will arrive at Gare du Nord. (Two of us share one iphone and the third person of course has his own iphone) I just mention that because we are not sure what our options are for using the Paris Metro with two of us using the one iphone.
We will arrive on a Sunday and use the metro that day and the following 5 days leaving on that Friday. One of us will go to CDG and the other 2 of us will go back to Gare du Nord and back to London.
Anyway, we are wondering if we should get the Navigo Easy card and is it a physical card or on your phone, and can we buy them at Gare du Nord?
Thanks so much!
The two Navigo cards of interest to tourists are either the Navigo Easy (2€) or the Navigo Découverte (5€). The Easy is basically for tickets, the Découverte is for passes. Either of these may be configured onto a smartphone using the Ile de France Mobilités app or the Bonjour RATP app. Every user must have either an app or a Navigo card. Individual paper tickets are still available.
Consider the electronic, Navigo Weekly, zone 1-5 pass at 31.60€ which must loaded onto either the Navigo Découverte card or a configured smartphone. This pass is valid Monday through Sunday only.
You state you want to use the métro on Sunday, individual tickets are 2.50€ each. If you are arriving at one of the airports, the airport fare to any RER/métro station is 13€.
We would like to have a card so we don’t have to take out our phone all the time.
Can we buy a Navigo Easy card at Gare du Nord?
Yes you can
