I’ve been to Paris a few times and always gotten my tickets at the station. Is that still possible? If not, can someone let me know what the process is these days? Thanks! Leaving in two weeks! Hopefully!
The best answers to your question are formulated knowing your requirements. Important elements include the days of the week you are traveling, and your rough itinerary. If you simply want a few tickets t+, they are now loaded onto the Navigo Easy card (2€), and cost 1.90€ each or 14.90€ for groups of ten tickets.
You may still be able to purchase the paper tickets, but they were supposed to be phased out this year. A group of ten paper tickets t+ cost 16.90€. If you want to pay more for transportation and have tickets in hand before you arrive in Paris, you can:

We will use the metro often in Paris but also plan to leave the city for Ouvers Sur Oise, Strasbourg, etc. where do I purchase the card? What would you recommend? Thanks so much for your help!
If you are traveling outside Paris yet remaining within the Ile de France, you most likely would benefit from a zone 1-5 Navigo fare which must be loaded on a Navigo Découverte card (5€). The fare is 22.80€ for a week, M-S or 75.20€ for a calendar month.
If you are traveling outside the Ide de France, purchase tickets from the SNCF here: oui.sncf/
However, this is all speculation on my part until you supply the details of your itinerary and the number of people traveling as well as any traveling with you who are under 26.
Nancy, here is a good site to review on information traveling within and outside of Paris.

I have the Navigo Decouverte myself and will be recharging it upon my return to Paris this December. However, since my second week there will be only 2 full days I most likely will get the Navigo Easy for myself and my mother.
Enjoy your trip.
I used the paper tickets last week in the Metro and on the bus. You have to get the Navigo Easy pass at a ticket office, and not every Metro station has them and there are often long lines. You can buy the paper tickets at any machine. So it's more convenient to go retro and get the paper tickets.
