Paris, Loire Valley, Cote d’Azure Itinerary questions

We already have a trip planned for July. We are going from London to Paris, renting a car in Paris, drive to Loire Valley for 3 days then back to Paris for 7 days. I am hoping to convince my husband to add another week to the trip and go to either Provence or Côte d’Azur. Is it crazy to go back to Paris and then South again? Or should I rearrange the days in Loire Valley? Or is there a high speed train from Loire Valley to either points South? Sorry if I am confusing.

Are you flying home from Paris? If so, I'd consider rearranging your itinerary. Fly from London to Nice. Then train to Tours or St Pierre des Corps and rent a car to tour the various chateaux. Note that this would require multiple trains and a routing through Paris. Its just the way the French rails are set up. Then return the car and go to Paris from St Pierre des Corps for the rest of your stay.

Or skip the south of France and just do the Loire- getting there and back by train and renting a car at the St Pierre des Corps train station for the Loire touring.

jafo 14,
After your 7 day Paris stay, you can take a TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to Avignon. The train goes all the way to Marseille. From Avignon you could rent a car to explore the many beautiful towns in Provence and the Luberon. With a car you could stay in any number of places. Return it in Avignon and take a TGV back to Paris. Voila!
