Paris Lodging: Seeking review Hotel London or Hotel Lenox Montparnasse

Hello

This is my first time traveling to Paris. In fact it is my first time to travel to Europe. We secured lodging at Hotel London (free cancellation). Shortly after that I discovered Hotel Lenox. Would appreciate any experience you may have of either/both hotels.

Thank you!

I’ve stayed at the Lenox in Montparnasse several times but not since 2017. I love the location (quiet small street but right off Boulevard Montparnasse and 5 minute walk to great metro lines and less than 10-minute walk to Luxembourg Gardens). The last time I stayed there, though, it was clearly getting run down. One night while sleeping I was awakened by a loud crash. A large … mechanical something had fallen through the ceiling by my door. If I’d been under it when it fell I would at the least been seriously injured.
They moved me to another room but didn’t offer anything in way of apology, etc.
I haven’t stayed there since.
I’d suggest you check to see if they’ve done any upgrades since then.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll peruse some recent reviews. I've read so many re: various hotels that it's hard to keep them strait in my mind.

Grateful for your help.

I stayed in the Hotel Lenox Montparnasse last September before and during the RS Paris and the Heart of France tour. I fell in love with both the hotel and the location. I have reservations there for this October and can't wait to go back.

Thanks for the feedback JP.

The Hotel Lenox certainly checks plenty of boxes. I'm going to see about booking a room there. We'll be arriving in Paris 4 weeks from now, so I realize that I may be out of options. You never know... Maybe someone cancelled their reservation? Keeping my fingers crossed.

Truth be told, the Hotel London checks off a number of boxes, too. What I'm not looking forward to are the "29 steps" to reach the lobby from the street, that I've read about. I don't mind stairs, however, I'd rather avoid the hassle of navigating said stairs - especially under the influence of jet lag. We've stayed at a couple of b&b's and hotels that required the climbing of stairs while hauling our luggage - not fun. Hence my apprehension about staying in such a hotel.

Thanks again,

WL

Update:
We have booked our stay at Hotel Lenox! Woohoo!

Thank you to all who shared their experiences with me. The online reviews were encouraging as well. So glad to have this task checked off my to-do list.

Much obliged,
