Paris: Lodging recommendations on a good bus line

Because I travel with a wheelchair for distances, I’ve learned that Paris is easier to get around by bus. We’re trying to find a hotel that has an elevator and enough space (in the room or lobby) to store my wheelchair at night. Don’t need to be in the most central area, but would like a scenic neighborhood close to a good bus line. Thanks for your help!

It would be most helpful if you could disclose your budget window in euros and indicated the month you will be in Paris, (prices vary seasonally).

If price is no object, any of the Palais class hotels will meet your requirements.

We’re hoping to spend less than $175/night. We will be there in March. We were hoping for an apartment, but looks like they will be more than our budget.

If you're going to be reliant on a good bus line, it will be best for you to be in the center of it all. Buses are crowded. Especially on those busy lines. So you'll have to pack extra patience. I would recommend finding a shuttle service for as much as the long distances as you can.

You will probably want to consider La Defense for more modern and spacious hotels. Or maybe Montparnasse. Those areas aren't the most scenic though.

Rick has very useful info in his guidebook about the bus lines he finds most useful, including a handy little map.

I would also guess that there are websites specifically aimed at travelers with mobility issues, esp. for a city as popular as Paris.

Firstly, here is a map of the Paris bus system:

https://www.ratp.fr/plan-bus

Secondly, hotels in March about 160€ with good elevator and which are not mentioned here as often as they should be:

Victoria Palace Hôtel - newly remolded hotel which is wheelchair accessible, on a quiet street but just steps from rue de Rennes with extensive bus service, i.e. lines 39, 89, 94, 95, 96

Hôtel La Perle - on quiet street near blvd St Germain, wheelchair accessible

Les Tournelles - Great location in the Marais, newly redecorated, very friendly, near public transportation, elevator is small.

Le Petit Chomel - on a quiet street in the 7th next to le Bon Marché and blvd St Germain. Wheelchair friendly.
