Out walking in Paris these past few days it seems that at least 3 or 4 times an hour I've heard that distinctive 2 tone police siren racing along only to discover its emanating from an unmarked car with a blue light on the roof. BMWs to VWs.
These all couldn't be undercover cops, could they?
Somehow I think every petty government official might be allowed to speed through traffic.
Given the events of this week, maybe they have allowed all 'petty officials' to exercise their right to blow their own horn.
They could be unmarked police and it is major city the capitol of France. You here those kind of sounds in big popular cities that have had major problems.
That's not really unusual - it is a big city, and sometimes the detectives have a lot of work on.
You hear and see similar in London, too...
Standard. This has been happening for ages. Could be detectives, SoC equivalent, security services, traffic police...
Might even be paramedic - I know of one paramedic fast response team that uses a BMW X5
Could moving dignitaries as well. Happens all the time in NYC and DC
I actually like that distinct siren. Makes me think "Yes! I'm in Paris again."
In DC, dignitaries are used driven around in motorcades full of black SUV's and BMWs with sirens.
