Yikes! I've had to change my trip at the last minute and am now thinking Paris next week. I've only been once before, and that hotel is booked solid.
I would like something clean, safe, near public transportation and with a front desk that speaks English.

It looks like several of Astotel’s properties have availability. Any of them would be suitable. I’d probably go with either the Joyce or 34B.
Have you looked at the Ibis properties in Paris? Maybe, take a look at ibis Paris Opera La Fayette and ibis Paris Opera Bastille. And a second for the Astotel properties. I’d also go for the Joyce.
Expect hotel prices in Paris in June to be expensive, even at 2 star hotels. That was shocking. In July there is some relief with the prices coming down a bit., likewise in August.
