Paris June 5

I arrived today and was thrilled to enjoy a dry and mild day! A relief to the locals I'm sure. I stopped at the TI to purchase a Paris.museum pass. The nice lady talked me out of It. Sundays are free, I already knew the louve is closed, same. With the orsay. Problem is. They won't be open until Wednesday (orsay possibly tuesdsy) and I have a fat tire tour of Versailles on Wednesday followed by the Eiffel tower at night. I leave Thursday leaving Sunday-Tuesday to explore. I've worn my feet and legs out so I cannot go crazy walking tomorrow..
Originally I had planned on skipping the museums on free Sunday (lineups)
I'm staying on rue cler. Suggestions for revised itinerary? I see there is a Sunday am market in the Marais. Lorangerie is closed Sunday "morning" no opening time posted. I would also like to see the rodain and military museums. It's 4 am falling back asleep still having a rough time sleeping

I spent about 5 hours in Les Invalides and Napoleon's Tomb and I am not really ~that~ in to military history. You might not want to spend that much time, lol but that one is easy to combine with Rodin and they are not too far from you on Rue Cler. This might involve more walking than you want to do, though. The Army Museum is huge.

Here is something I have been meaning to do but have run out of time in previous visits. It does involve walking but just between the Eiffel Tower Area and Rue Cler.

Hope your sleep cycle rights itself!

Check out the Sunday bird market on Ile de La Cite just around the corner from the Metro station entrance. Stumbled on this one by accident, but it turns out to be very well known. Caged song birds all types, bird cages, bird seed, bird care books, all things pet birds.

Some of the streets in the Marais are closed to vehicle traffic on Sat-Sun, great time to go wandering there, with all the locals out as well. Pop in to the Carnavalet Museum (always free - and closing for renovations in the fall). There are a couple of private museums as well.

Since you're missing the Orsay, you could compensate a little and go to the Marmottan, excellent Monet collection and good Morisots as well. There's also a temporary exhibition of impressionists that looks very good.

Thx again. I ended up walking too much again bah but I'm in Paris right? I went to the market in the Marais by the opera house. Got some gifts and went to the suggested museum down the street. Wanted to check out monoprix but it's sunday=closed. Went to lorangerie but the line up was crazy so I walked across the bridge over to the military museum for a look. On the way to the fridge I was stopped three times by the petition scammers. Then walked to the Rodin museum and waited in line there... Thought it was free but nope. That's ok just went to see the thinker and walked the gardens. Then walked back to my hotel on rue cler. It's 8 and I'm in bed lolololol. Two more "free" days in Paris. I can't believe how fast the time is going.

If your feet are tired...take a cab (10 minutes) to Bon Marche. As interesting as a museum and the downstairs food store is incredible. Have an espresso and try to stay up late!

You might like the fashion exhibits at the Musee Galliera, if you haven't already been. The area around it on President Wilson has many great galleries and museums. Many foreign embassies that you can poke your head into as well.

On the way to the fridge I was stopped three times by the petition scammers.

Were they as hungry as you?

Its too late for you, but we did go to Pomidou yesterday on free sunday, line appaered long but moved fast , we were inside in less than 15 minutes.

I second the Invalids Museum recommendation.
