Paris Itinerary - Next week!

Any thoughts on our plan? Thanks for your advice, this forum has been so helpful.
I was in Paris a few times as a young adult, and it's my husband's 1st time. We're 64 in pretty good shape, love art, gardens, history and walking. How does this all look to you? We're trying to plan, and are willing to chuck it and wander as needed or sit on a bench. The only thing we don't have planned yet is the Atelier de Lumieres, and we need to buy advance tickets for that, though not sure where to fit it in. We have an apartment in the 11th arr.

I think your plan is great and well paced. For the best view of the Eiffel Tower, Cross the Seine and view it from the Trocadero. I would also visit Montmartre daytime and then, after dinner, stroll up the Champs to the Arc and climb the stairs for a fantastic view of Paris as it grows dark and the lights come on.

What worked for me was to purchase a map and use tiny sticky notes to indicate the sights I wanted to see ( a different color for each day). That helped me group things together that are nearby. The Louvre is a lovely stroll away from the l'Orangerie, for example.

Thanks Marty. That's an old school approach I hadn't thought of! But I'm a visual person, so that just may work for me.

It looks good to me, each day makes geographic sense, you're doing most of the heavy museum lifting in the mornings so you can base the rest of the day on your energy level. You're allowing time for strolling and people-watching (while sitting).

One thing you might consider adding, perhaps on Friday, is a one-hour Seine cruise. Les Vedettes du Pont Neuf leave all day and evening from the Ile de la Cite, you don't need to make reservations or buy ahead so you can choose your weather, it gets you off your feet and gives you a unique perspective of the city.

You have a good plan. The only change I would make is that I wouldn't spend a lot of time on the Champs Elysees because it is very crowded and nothing like we have always fantasized it to be. Instead, I would spend that time in Montmartre.

Thank you! Dick I laughed when I saw your boat post because I had JUST made a note to myself to see if we could fit in a Seine boat ride some evening, so we'll check out Les Vedettes as that seems the most suited to what we want.

and Carolyn, thanks for that, I think a quick look at CE and more Montmartre sounds like more our style. I appreciate you pointing that out.
