paris in strike

Hi All,

I am planning to travel Paris on 6/7 -6/9. I heard there are on strike on 6/7 and 6/8. Will the metro also impact? Will that only impact the train? Is that mean I can't go to Chateau de Versailles on these 2 days?

Thanks,
Allen

The metro is not on strike. The RER train to Versailles is running.
When you get to Paris ask your hotel for an update

Just returned from 10 days in Paris. Unless you are venturing out of town on a strike day, your travel around Paris will not be impacted at all. We planned our out of the city visit (Reims) for a non-strike day. Those strike days are (thoughtfully?) posted on various sites. Sorry I don't have one at my fingertips right now! Try google?

Thanks! if metro is not impact that is a good news. I found out 6/7 and 6/8 are the on strike date for train. I am not sure will that impact for me to Chateau de Versailles.

RER C is impacted by the strike. Just returned from Paris and some of my travel companions went to Versailles on a strike day. I told them to take Metro Line 9 to Pont de Sevres route and change there for Bus 171 (cost is 2 t+ tickets). It took them about 90 minutes "door to door" starting from near Bastille Metro station. One great thing about the bus is that it drops you off right in front of the Chateau. Also, if you take the metro, it is best to be at the front of Line 9 so you come up right at the bus stop.

Do you mean June 7 and 8th? Will the TGV be running these days? (We have tickets to go from paris to Aix on June 7th...) Where could one get more info about the strike? Thank you!
