Paris in Mid December

We're heading to Morocco for 5 nights to celebrate our silver jubilee, and we're considering spending 4 nights in Paris to enjoy the holiday festivities. I personally prefer Paris, but some friends have mentioned it tends to rain a lot in December. Could you please share your experience of visiting Paris in December?

My first trip to Paris was about a decade ago during Christmas. It was very cold (lows in the 20's and highs in the 40's). We didn't have any rain, but there were snow flurries one morning. I see you're from Canada, so this shouldn't be much of an issue. As longs you bring warm enough clothing, you'll have a grand time.

I should note that I'm going back to Paris again during December this year, so the weather definitely didn't turn me off :-)

We have had the joy of spending two Christmas eves in Paris are returning again this year. One had a drizzle and one clear. However, we are from Seattle so rain is not a huge issue. We’ve been to Paris in warm weather when you can picnic along the Seine and hang out in Luxembourg Gardens but in December they’re places to just relax, people watch, take in the beautiful decorations, think about all the Christmas’ the city has experienced and explore museums with less people. We always head home on Christmas Day.

We are also going back to Paris this December for the second time (also Strasbourg). Yes, it will probably rain and temps will be chilly, but that's what jackets and waterproof shoes are for. It'll be cold at home, too. I'd rather be in Paris.

Most of France is going to be cool and wet in DEC. Expect temps to get below freezing at night, and rain or snow every other day (minimum). Currently it's been raining 5-6 times a week and the temps are mid-50's to high 30's (f). It will get colder, and if the early start to this years fall season is any indicator this will be a cold, wet, winter. We're due, the last couple years have been pretty good.
