I remember staying at the Hotel Castex on RS tour, and also twice at Hotel de Nice on Rue Du Rivoli. This was approx in 1998-2001. Does anyone have an update on these properties and the area in general ?

Hotel Castex was remodeled about 2 years ago. The rates have risen a little, but it's a nicer hotel. It's in a quiet area, transportation options very good, markets, shopping, all you need.
Hotel de Nice has not been renovated and is on a noisy boulevard.
