We are looking for a hotel in Paris that offers a fitness center, and if possible, a complimentary breakfast. Seems even the Holiday Inn Express and Best Westerns (usually offer both amenities) don't offer these options in Paris. Please recommend hotels in Paris that might have a good work-out facility and breakfast for guests.
If you go on booking.com, choose "Paris, France," and put in your dates, after the page of results pops up you can then filter your results by choosing "fitness center" and "breakfast included" in the filters on the left side of the page. This may give you a place to start. You can then also scroll through the photos that the hotels include, to see if any fitness center appears to meet your needs.
Kandle - Try Hotel du Collectionneur Arc de Triomph and Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile. Both have what you are looking for.
The search engine sites haven't been very helpful. I honestly think that fitness centers aren't an amenity in Paris hotels, but thank you for taking the time to offer a suggestion and I will try it. Thank you so much for the two recommendations you found for me, too. Great help. Much appreciated!!!!
I am in a similar situation . Access to a gym is of utmost importance to me , as I work out daily , and am loath to skip it . Having just put together my trip for next Autumn , I have found that four star ratings will often provide fitness equipment . Three star ( like HIE , or Ibis ) , generally will not . The other solution is to google search " fitness " in your location , Paris for you . I did this in Germany last year , and was usually able to come up with a nearby gym where I could purchase a day pass .
What is your budget window in euros? Plenty of hotels have fitness centers but you will need to book 4 or 5 star hotels to find a fitness center at the hotel.
Breakfast in a hotel is generally not a particularly good option. You´ll pay 3 to 4 times for what you could otherwise find at a nearby café. The French typically eat dinner late and few really want to wake to a big breakfast. The idea of breakfast is different if you typically eat dinner at 5pm or 6pm as do many in the US.
I know the Westin Vendôme has a fitness center — don’t know about breakfast there but I would guess it is extra.
Thanks all you good people for the suggestions!! Now, onto day-wine tours to and from Paris. What are your thoughts on that question? Cheers!
Hi Kandle, i too try to work out at least a couple of days while traveling so I don't lose progress. However, I don't feel a gym is necessary. There are a host of body weight exercises to target every area of the body, many that are actually more effective than those using weights or machines. Any good instructor at your gym at home should be able to provide you with a good routine. We have one instructor who will actually skype clients for a training session while they are away.
Or you can just google body weight exercises.
You'll probably get more responses, Kandle, if you start a new post re: wine tasting. The first site I'd check out would be
o-chateau.com/
Just a late response, but the Renaissance Place Republique has a center, not one of the huge ones, however. The Marriott family of hotels generally have pics of their fitness centers on the website so you can make the evaluation. Except at some airport locations I've yet to run into the large in-city fitness centers like they have in Asia.
Thank you everyone for your kind suggestions. We have booked our hotel and flights so we are all set for Paris. Yes, I'll try to post a different link for suggestions about day-trips for vineyards outside of Paris. Many kind thanks to all of you. Buy the shoes, eat the cake and take the trip! Kandy
I see you already chose a hotel but this one is our favorite out of five trips to Paris, and has what you asked for: Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Pres
I agreed with Julia. Citadines is a gem in Saint Germain with Great location.
