Paris Hotel with Airport Shuttle to CDG?

We will be staying one night in Paris before our return flight home. Most likely, we will take the TGV from Nimes to Gare de Lyon. Trying to decide where we should stay in Paris and the easiest options for traveling with luggage. I know there are hotels near the airport, but does anyone have any experience with hotels that are closer to sites like Notre Dame that either provide a shuttle to the airport or are close to a convenient form of public transportation?

I've been to Paris before, but that was over 10 years ago. At that time I stayed at a hostel in the Latin Quarter, but I was just traveling with enough items for a long weekend trip.

Thanks for any tips you can provide!

I don't think any hotels in Paris provide complimentary shuttle service to the airport, unless maybe one of those super expensive ones that charge 1500 EUR. night. A bit of googling shows the moderately priced Hotel Royal Saint Michele is right next to the RER B St Michel-Notre Dame entrance and just a couple of blocks from Notre Dame.

There is also the Novotel Paris Gare de Lyon right next to the train station. Then you could take Le Bus Direct from in front of the station, or the RER A to Les Halles and a cross platform change to the RER B, or the RER D to Gare du Nord for a cross platform change to the RER B.

Taxi's G7 has an English speakers phone line, we arranged night before for 5:50 am pickup-right on time.

The easiest option for travelling with luggage is always a taxi. Depending on the location of your hotel (left or right bank) the fare is 50 or 55 euro. Worth every euro cent in my opinion.

Hi Kristin, any hotel will arrange a taxi for you. That's the easiest way to get to the airport with luggage. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Public transport is 10 Euro from anywhere in Paris but you need to be able to haul luggage up and down stairs easily to use that option and be able to be absolutely pickpocket proof while burdened with luggage. A hotel near the RER B line is easiest -- near Gare du Nord, St. Michel or Luxembourg stops. But you can get there by metro from anywhere on that same ticket.

We take a taxi for 55 Euro from the left bank.

the airports are a very long way from Paris and you don't want a hotel 'near the airport' -- for a last night it can be prudent to have a hotel AT the airport (not 'NEAR) but otherwise you want to be in central Paris.

I believe St Michel has an elevator entrance, although I'm not sure exactly where it is. Luxembourg has escalators. Gare du Nord has elevators and escalators, and Gare de Lyon has escalators. There are escalators at the CDG Terminal 2. Like I said, you can make the changes at Les Halles and Gare du Nord by just walking 20 feet across the platform. So you really don't have to walk up and down stairs. You can also use the RATP route planner and check the wheelchair box to see the station accessibility. http://www.ratp.fr/itineraires/en/ratp/recherche-avancee
Le Bus Direct will store your bags in the bus hold and take you direct to CDG and drop you near your terminal. Fare is 17 EUR.

Hotels with a complimentary shuttle are those located at the airport. I stay the last night in Paris at CDG, ie, at the Campanille, a two star French chain, before flying out to SFO. Very nice with a good restaurant, and take its shuttle the next morning.
