We are looking for a moderate hotel in the St Germain des Pres or Latin quarter. Looking at Hotel La Perle, Relais Medicis, Odeon, Grandes Ecoles. Any recommendations? Prefer quiet, comfortable bed, helpful staff, convenience for walking and metro. How do these compare to Muguet and Relais Bosquet in Rue Cler area?

Which Odeon? If you mean Odeon Saint Germain, I highly recommend it. Great location with quiet rooms.

Thanks for your reply! I think it is a different hotel. It is at 3, rue de l'Odéon, a block north of the theatre.

I’m staying at the Hotel Saint Christophe in the Latin Quarter in September. Haven’t stayed there before but the reviews and price are good. Close to the Seine, Sainte Chapelle, Notre-Dame, and Luxembourg Gardens.

I've not stayed at the ones you listed but have stayed at Muguet and Relais Bosquet.. Both are quiet, comfortable and have helpful staff. I frequently walk from the Louvre/Jardin des Tuileries/Notre Dame area back to one or the other so to me it's pretty convenient but many will think this is too much walking. The ones you've noted in the 5th and 6th will be closer to Ile de la Cite.
The Odeon is part of the same small chain as Relais Bosquet.

I have not stayed in the ones you are inquiring about, but I wanted to suggest two in the same area: Hotel les Dames du Pantheon, and Hotel des Grands Hommes. They are owned by the same company and are right at Place du Pantheon. We have stayed at both and love them! If available, spring for a room with a balcony overlooking the Pantheon (you can get your breakfast on a tray and drink your coffee/nibble croissants on your balcony with this world-class view). The location is great - walkable to so many sites and museums, plus the energy of the St. Germain and the Latin Quarter. It's my favorite spot to stay! Both hotels are lovely, have great staff, and are effortlessly "Parisian." Wherever you end up, have a wonderful time!
