Paris Hotel Prices Prior to Olympics?

For any hotel market watchers out there:

We are planning to visit Paris in early June 2024 and I am wondering if the anticipated spike in hotel prices (and occupancy, for that matter) associated with the Olympics will have begun as early as that. We stayed in Bastille in 2023 and want to stay there or the Marais or Canal St. Martin in 2024.

Paris hotel prices in June are high and look like they will only go higher each day the Olympics draws closer. The other big event bringing throngs of visitors to France in 2024 is the 80th Anniversary of D-Day falling on June 6. A lot of the folks visiting Normandy will be going to Paris either before or after the D-Day commemorations. Paris hotel prices are beginning to skyrocket in the second half of June. On June 11, there are a number of accommodations on Booking.com in the $250 range and a a few below $200. Taking a quick look one week later on June 18 prices mostly rise above $300 per night throughout Paris. I see nothing below $200. And July—- forget about it. For July 26, it looks like $500 per night is the minimum.

One of my favorites, the “Hotel de la Bretonnerie” in the Marais, is offering their classic rooms on June 11 and June 18 for €244. On July 26 the rate is €598.
The Paris Olympics open July 26 and continue through August 11.
