Paris Hotel opinion - Relais St. Germain

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone stayed at the Paris hotel Relais St. Germain in the 6th recently or fairly recently? If so, I'd love to hear your impressions of this hotel. I've already gone through the reviews on all the typical sites but prefer to hear from those with first-hand knowledge directly, if possible.
Thank you for any input you can provide.

I haven't stayed there (although I wouldn't hesitate to do so), but the restaurant, Le Comptoir, is terrific. I was last there in 2018, and on weekends there was a prix fixe dinner that was whatever the chef prepared. It's a challenge to get a reservation, and perhaps it's easier if you are at the hotel, which would be a good reason to stay there. I wound up trying weeks in advance and even called for my reservation, telling them that I had been there before and wanted to celebrate my 40th anniversary there. It was an absolutely wonderful meal!

Thank you for your response, Lois.
Yes, I'm told that those staying at the hotel have first dibs at a table in the restaurant. It's also my understanding that there is room service provided by the restaurant as well............definitely one of the perks.

I have not stayed at this hotel, but I know its reputation and the surrounding area. It is appointed with taste, the summer geraniums hanging from the windows exude great charm, and the location is fabulous.

The only concern I might have is noise and the very heavy traffic, particularly bus traffic, that continually passes by.

The location is really great, and while there is a fair amount of traffic, it does not pass right at the foot of the building but a bit further, on the other side of the small square (Carrefour de l'Odéon), and typically at a very slow speed (narrow street, tight curve). It would not be too much of a concern then, unlike, for instance, a hotel directly on Boulevard Saint Germain.
