Paris hotel near RER B to CDG

Deciding between Hotel Diana (comfort) or Hotel Esmeralda (location) walkable to REB B - Saint Michel/Notre Dame for one night to CDG next day. Does anyone have advice between these two, or other hotel in that area? Ideal budget under $125. Thank you.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel des Grandes Ecoles. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the Luxembourg RER B station.

Last time we were in Paris, we had a good stay for a couple of nights at Albe Hotel Saint Michel, which is just steps from the Saint Michel/Notre Dame RER/Metro station entrance. A bunch of good casual dining choices on the streets it is on. Maybe a bit outside your budget, though.

I'm a little confused. Are you looking for a place that would be convenient for a morning departure from CDG? There are several decent hotels right at CDG that are 10-15 minutes tops from Terminal 2 and equally convenient to Terminal 1.

You don't want a hotel at St Michel any time soon because of the fire. It is closed right now and likely to be problematic for some time. I'd look for something near Luxembourg or Chatelet Les Halles --

Thanks for the tips so far. Do you think the St. Michel/Notre Dame area will still be closed in June/July?

I’m looking for straight ride on RER B to CDG for afternoon flight and liked the St Michel area near the RER station.

We stayed at Le Clos Médicis which is a boutique hotel 2 blocks from the Luxembourg Gardens. The RER B station called Luxembourg is 3 blocks away. We loved it. Luxembourg is just one stop past St Michel.

Something to keep in mind -- Luxembourg RER station has escalator/elevator capabilities.

We've stayed at the Hotel des Grandes Hommes before, right on the Place du Pantheon. It's a 6 minute walk to the Luxembourg Garden stop of the RER B. It used to be on Rick's list of hotels.

Hotel Grande Ecoles is nice in the late fall or spring because of its lovely garden. It does not have AC and is a nightmare in summer. We measured our room at 100F in the afternoon and because there is no cross draft, it didn't get comfortable all night long. I would never stay there in summer and if you do make sure you don't have an upstairs room.
