Paris hotel….i can’t decide. HOTEL VICTOIRE & GERMAIN Or Hôtel Relais Bosquet

We are spending 5 night in Paris this September. I have been looking at these 2 hotels. Similar cost.

We want to have lots of food options, easy metro access, and maybe quieter area.

Thoughs? I need to stop reading the reviews. Seems like there are always bad and great reviews.

Thanks for any thoughts. Never been to Paris before so i am clueless.

While I’ve not stayed at Hotel Victoire & Germain, I stay at Relais Bosquet nearly every time I’m in Paris. I like the area although many on the forum will pooh-pooh it. There are many restaurants in the area and for this older solo woman traveler I can easily navigate back home after a couple glasses of wine at dinner, lol!! I’m not much of a breakfast eater but they do usually have scrambled eggs, mushrooms and some kind of meat along with the traditional croissants and baguette. Hotel staff is very nice!

I book directly on the hotel website.

I would choose the Bosquet hotel if looking for quieter. We usually stay in the Saint Germain area and love it but south a few blocks from Blvd St Germain. The location of your St Germain pick is very busy.

We stayed at Relais Bosquet for five nights in May of 2022, and I can't think of any negative about our stay. We did spend the extra money to get an Eiffel Tower view. The staff couldn't have been nicer.

We didn't use the metro, but instead got a 2-day pass on the HOHO to get us around the city. We also walked a lot (which we like).

I stayed at the Hotel Relais Bosquet in March 2022. The hotel staff was really nice, the location is quiet and close to a metro station and the Rue Cler is close by. An added bonus, we had a room where we could see the top of the Eiffel Tower and I loved to watch it sparkling after dark.

How interesting... I had the Bosquet booked for months, then changed to the Victoire and Germain. I just stayed there last week. It was only loud one night, but this was during les vacances, so half the clubs and restaurants were closed. It was incredibly convenient to everywhere I wanted to go, whereas the Rue Cler area was 20 to 30 minutes extra. I would suggest making a list of where you want to visit and seeing how long it would take from either hotel, then deciding if quiet is worth the additional travel time. Earplugs will always help, and there are definitely tons of good restaurants near the V&G. The staff there were also super nice.

I think quiet wins. We live outside a city in a very quiet rural area. So we are not used to noise at night. Except when the coyotes are out and about.

Thanks everyone!
