Paris Hotel - Booked at Hotel Britannique (1st), might switch to Marais

Hello! I am a solo traveler who will be flying into Paris on July 2nd and staying for two nights before heading to several other cities. I've been to Paris twice before and both times I stayed at the Hotel Britannique (1st arrondissement). The hotel is very centrally located and I've really enjoyed my stays there but I'm thinking of staying in a different area just for a change of pace. I have my eye on the Marais neighborhood. My room at the Brittannique is $252 per night without breakfast which I think is a bit pricey compared to what I've paid there in the past (another reason for going elsewhere). I'd like to spend a bit less ($200ish) in the Marais neighborhood. I'm not terribly picky but I'd really like to have air conditioning and a balcony if possible (I couldn't get one at Brittannique for $252 this time!). Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for my price range in the Marais neighborhood? I've looked at a lot of reviews and I can't seem to decide on anything. Thanks so much!

When you were at the Britannique, was it during July? Hotel Jeanne d'Arc is a good, well-priced hotel and might be in your preferred budget in July but I think that they may not have AC -- was not there in the summer. $200 is a lot of money but Le Marais can be pricy and a balcony and air conditioning are probably not available there for $200 per night in July. If you can forego the balcony, you can probably get a room at Hotel D'Win and have AC. The D'Win has rooms for solo occupancy which could be a good deal for you. Hotel Duo right nearby has nicer finishes and AC and is my third suggestion. Finally, if you are interested in the eastern edge of Le Marais, you may like Hotel Bastille Speria (again no balcony).

Thanks for the feedback! I will check out those hotels. I have already inquired about Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais which seems to be popular in Marais and the rate that they offered me is nearly identical to Hotel Brittanique. They have air conditioning but it didn't list a balcony (though some of the pictures seem to indicate that there might be one). I'd like to pay a little bit less but July is definitely more expensive than some other times of the year.

Please note that there are two hotels with Caron in their names in Le Marais. Hotel Caron and Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais. Of the two, I prefer the Hotel Caron's decor and room size. Room 21 at Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais has a small balcony but I think that it might be more than $200 per night in July.

Thanks! That's good information. The only room that they had was available at Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais was $250. I will check on the other ones. I have pretty much decided to move from the Hotel Britannique since it appears that I can get something for at least the same price or cheaper in Marais and it might be nice to try something new.
