Paris - Hotel Beaugency - Last Tour Stop

Paris is the final stop on The Best of Europe in 21 Days Tour. The Rick Steves' hotel is the Hotel Beaugency. Considering adding 2 or 3 days on my own at the same hotel - subject to availability. Do any have first hand knowledge of this establishment they care to share? Others that you would suggest? Also welcome recommendations / advice for the entire tour. This will be in October - if that influences the " must sees, the gotta dos." Thank you.

I first stayed at Beaugency on my 21 day Best of Europe and have stayed many times since then. I’d definitely add nights there as you may be tired of hotel moves. The staff is wonderful and has been stable before and after Covid. I love the location!

The first bit of advice is if your guide offers any extras - meals not covered by the tour, wine tasting, gondola ride, hiking in Switzerland….whatever…jump on it!! Don’t even blink at extra transportation costs in Switzerland! Just add it to yourCC and think about it later, lol.

I’d recommend a waterproof rain jacket with a hood. It may be getting chilly in Switzerland and by the tour end in Paris so I might have a puffy vest or jacket. Smushes down to nothing and very light. Imight also include a pr of light weight gloves/glove liners.

Get your tour shoes soon and get some miles in on them. Rome is hilly so add in hill or stair work to your fitness routine. I “trained” for this tour as I was doing 3 RS tours back to back to back and it was definitely a plus. The better your fitness level the more fun you’ll have. I think the longer days we had were in Amsterdam and Rome where we went over 10 miles on the tour activities.

Here is a link to my TR. It’s from 2014 but still pertinent I think. I take fewer clothes now!

What a fun time you will have. Another RS tour guide told me he went on this as an assistant and loved it because of the “blockbuster “ sights every day.

That was my first tour hotel in 2000! My single supplement room on the third floor had a view of the Eiffel Tower - from the bathroom window. I think everyone on the tour took a photo from that window. I’ve stayed there a few times since and would do so again. Great staff, nice breakfast excellent location.

Hahaha Philip!! I had that room last time! I’ve also had the room across the hall from which you can see the ET without standing in the tub, 😆😆!

Hi Hrmeroar,

Which 21 Day Europe Tour are you on? Since your tour ends in October, are you on the one that starts on September 17 - October 7? I'm on that tour, but I'll be in Paris a few days before the tour begins.

No - my tour starts on Oct 1st - but I just canceled. Can't do this year. Though I have been to several of the locations - I was really looking forward to it. Enjoy and please give a report.
