Paris hotel

Planning a first time trip for July. Any advice on where to stay? Only have 3 full days so a place convenient to the usual touristy stuff would be great. Thanks!

Thank you. I guess I’m also wondering which part of the city to look for a place.

Citadines St. Germain has large rooms, in a perfect location right on the Seine, in the oldest part of Paris. Pay close attention to the room sizes. Paris standards are tiny, with 110-140 sq feet rooms very common. Most hotel rooms in the US are 300+ sq feet, for comparison.

Tinkerbell, things to keep in mind

What is your budget in Euros per night?

How many rooms/beds do you need? Or are you looking for an apartment?

How do you plan to get around? Is being near a metro station or bus stop important to you or are you going to be using taxis mostly.

Provide these answers and we can help you better.

I just returned from Paris. I stayed at Hotel Signature-St Germain-des-Pres in 6th arrondissement (district) and Hotel Londres Eiffel (Rick Steves tour hotel). They have the same owners. Both are near Metro stations. Enjoyed both.
We loved walking to Orangerie, Louvre, Notre Dame and St. Sulpice from Hotel Signature.

Our budget is up to about 350 euro per night. We are 2 adults, mother and daughter would prefer 2 beds or a king. One double bed wouldn’t be comfortable. So that’s an issue I’m running into with rooms. We don’t have mobility issues, can walk far but may take transit or taxis due to time constraints. We’re visiting 2 other European countries during this trip so this is really about seeing the major sights, trying some good food and hoping for some relaxing time too.

Maricka - thanks for the hotel tips. I had checked into those but the room types available for our dates won’t work for us 😢.

If anyone has other specific hotel suggestions to share, I would love that. My search continues.

I’ve narrowed it down to Hotel Europe Saint Severin. Gets good reviews on here and looks like the Paris I envision in my mind. If anyone has any additional feedback on this hotel, please let me know, thank you

That hotel gets consistently good press, although I've never stayed there myself. I will add though to avoid any of the cheap restaurants in the little warren of streets surrounding the church of the same name. They're all truly awful with industrially prepared airplane-type food on offer.

The hotel is in a busy area. One of the streets filled with tacky, cheap restaurants that HappyToBeHere suggests you avoid is Rue de la Huchette.

However, the fabulous restaurant Hestia has opened on this street. I dined there earlier this month and the food was wonderful, service terrific and the chef owner was a Michelin starred chef. It's about a 3 minute walk from your hotel. Booking advised.
