Paris hotel - 1 night, depart CDG next day noonish

I am touring Lyon in early October, then flying back home via CDG mid-week. Planning to take train Lyon-Paris the day before departure, then check in to a Paris hotel for one night. Looking for the following:

Spend afternoon and evening walking around the hotel neighborhood a bit - no dashing to tour a museum. (Will be back many times.)
Good authentic neighborhood bistrots/restaurants, not difficult to get a table - don't want to have to reserve in advance.

Am willing to spend 250-400 euros.

I suspect that there are alot of hotels but that the real determinant here is a nice neighborhood to casually walk and sightsee. Never been to Paris so I only know about "big name" landmarks - you know, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, etc. What are your ideas for best arrondissements for a pleasant evening stroll and getting an early taxi to the airport?

Merci beaucoup!

I'm always partial to the 5th (or 6th); the Latin Quarter or St Germain respectively. Lots of bistros and casual cafés, and easy for walks along the Seine or in the Luxembourg gardens. Its best to have your hotel book your morning taxi the day before (or do it yourself using the G7 app).

Something in the Saint Germain area (arrondissement 6) or the Latin Quarter (arrondissement 5) will give you loads of cafes to choose from. Look for a hotel that is 15 to 25 minutes from the Seine. You'll be in walking distance to Notre Dame, Sainte-Chapelle, the Seine for an evening stroll or a cruise.

Here are a couple suggestions:

Hotel Odeon Saint Germain

Hotel les Jardin du Luxembourg

Depending on the area and night of the week, don't expect to be able to get a table at a bistro or smaller restaurant without a reservation. Cafes would be a better choice if you don't want to reserve.

I concur with making sure you have the morning taxi reserved the day before. If your flight is at noon, and you want to be there 3 hours before that, get your taxi at 8 at the latest, IMO. Others may have better info on this, but that is my 2 cents. Don't rely on getting a taxi the morning of your flight. The extra few euros to reserve ahead is worth the peace of mind.

Thank you both for your advice. I booked at the Odeon, it looks very good and the neighborhood sights are just what I wanted to have during that afternoon and evening! I def will prebook/order a taxi for the early AM checkout, very good advice. Thanks!

Book the cab two days ahead -- sometimes they aren't available the night before -- I have had that happen and had to scramble and a second time the G7 dispatcher told me there was nothing when he misunderstood and thought I wanted to go the next morning. I did get one last minute in the spring for my daughter, but it is safer to book two days ahead.
