What are the most popular hostels in Paris

Cliff, did you just return from your scheduled early-fall 45 days in Paris? How was your trip? What did you end up doing to obtain euros?

The RS gang isn't largely a hostel crowd, and "popular" is a nebulous term. Highly rated? Highly rated for most central location? For party animals? For families? For offering both dorm and private rooms? For extra amenities? For solo women? For price? There's often not a single answer.

You might log into Hostelworld (https://www.hostelworld.com) or even booking.com (https://www.booking.com/hostels/city/fr/paris.html) and browse the listings. Choose according to the ratings and attributes most important to you.

You also might want to edit the title of your thread, which now says, "Paris Hosts" and change it to "Paris Hostels." Or even better, edit it to say something like "Looking for recommendation for a hostel in Paris."

I have stayed in two hostels in Montmartre.

PlugInn Hostel near the Blanche metro. It was fine. we got a private room, which was very small. Breakfast was a croissant, bread, and coffee. Mini elevator. Close to Rue Lepic for restaurants etc.

Cuilancourt Square Hostel on the other side of Montmartre. This one was my favourite because it is in a residential area, rather than a tourist zone. I don';t remember breakfast because we went to the great boulangerie next door. There is a restaurant right outside the door. Not gourmet but decent food. there is a grocery right across the street. Lots of other restaurants etc in the neighbourhood. A nice walk up the hill to the tourist zone. Nearest Metro is Lamarck Cuilancourt, a short walk away. Again the rooms are very small, and this one doesn't have an elevator.
Both have dormitories as well. Check them out!
Edited to correct the metro stn for PlugInn, and added station for Cuilancourt sq.

Judging from the numbers I've seen staying at this hostel, I would say St Christopher Inn located between Gare du Nord and Est. I stay in the 2 star hotel across from it or at another one very close by and every time I pass this hostel it appears crowded with a very diverse and international crowd of hostelers there, Americans included ranging from US college kids to those 20 years their senior.
