Paris holiday season

Are there any times between Dec 26 and January 10 when museums and attractions would be closed down in Paris?

Probably January 1 but you can google each museum of interest for further info.

I am going this December and have been told that Dec 26th is a holiday-Boxing Day, and that a lot of things will be closed. Not sure if this helps......enjoy your trip!

The Nissim Camondo Museum is open every day of the year.

Just a point of clarification: Boxing Day is a holiday in the UK. It is not a holiday in France.

I was told that it is observed in England, Canada, France, Austria, and Hungary (in particular). In fact, I was told that it is a good day to travel because a lot of things will be closed. I don't know-just what I've been told....Sorry if I caused any confusion.

Trish, no worries. Unfortunately, somebody told you wrong. I just didn't want the OP (or anyone else reading the thread) to worry about French sites on 12/26. I know it's a huge deal in Great Britain, especially with regard to transport, but it simply doesn't exist here. Somebody was telling you something they clearly didn't have any idea about!!

There are 3 days when most everything shuts down in Paris Jan 1, Dec 25 and May 1. Assume it is closed on those day unless you get info to the contrary. e.g. the Eiffel Tower is open most days other things are closed.

Boxing day is not a French holiday. They do however celebrate scads of ecclesiastical holidays many of which often occur in May; this is always amusing in such a resolutely secular country but hey, cake. On those days museums and transport are up and running but transport is on a holiday schedule. The main effect is crowded roads as locals take the opportunity to go somewhere for a few days.
