Train arrives Gare de Lyon, next train departs Montparnasse. Haven’t purchased tickets yet. How much time should we allow to comfortably get from station to station? What is the easiest way to do this?
Thanks for your help.

Thanks Frank. I was wondering what that message was. Now, can you help me with my question 😊
You should allow at least 60-75 minutes between trains. Add 15-30 minutes if the onward train from Montparnasse is a "Ouigo", because of the check-in requirement.
The easiest way between the stations is a taxi (it's not that far, less than 20€ normally); the line can be long but it normally moves fast.
Otherwise, take the metro (line 14 one stop to Bercy, then line 6 to Montparnasse), but only if you can comfortably carry your stuff up and down plentiful stairs.
Purchase your journey through Oui SNCF as one ticket: this way, if your train to Paris is delayed, the train company will take care of you (including paying for a hotel room if you miss the last train of the day).
Thanks for the information
Another option is to take Bus 91. It takes just about the same amount of time as the train and you will not have make any transfers. This bus route runs from Gare du Nord to Gare Montparnasse so there are always people on it with luggage but I wouldn't take it or the metro if I had a lot of luggage. I schedule 2 hours between trains but I agree that 75 minutes is sufficient -- I am just extra.
