Paris for the first time March 10

Hello all,

Travelling to Paris for the first time mid March, from the 10th to 16th. Very spontaneous trip.. May stay a couple days longer or venture to another city/country, still trying to figure that out. Open to suggestions too. Any must sees other than the obvious museums and monuments? Is the weather super temperamental at the time and does any one know the average temperature? Also moderately priced restaurant suggestions would be super appreciated. Thanks for your help :)

What you must see is contingent upon your interests. Spend some time with a good guidebook to develop what will be important to you. I like the Michelin Green Guide for Paris. There are many others.

Restaurant recommendations depend upon where you are staying and what you consider moderately priced in euros.

Weather information is available here.

Make sure you check on the current French labor/transportation strikes, which are usually announced in advance.
Have a great time and safe travels!

We went to Paris in early April one year, grandkids spring break. We had been in London where it snowed and Paris was also cold. Looking at my photos, my family wore winter coats, hats, gloves. I don’t remember the temperatures but we sat on top of a Seine river boat and didn’t head down to the inside area. It was sunny and we had a great time.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. We will be staying in the 6th. Big fans of walking, so will be main way of getting around. Love a good meal, wine and coffee. Want to check out some local boutiques, smaller galleries. Basically just go with the flow.

I love Cafe de Flore, and Les Deux Magots on Blvd. St. Germain. Venerable, famous cafes -- touristy, and somewhat pricey yes, but a quintessential Parisian cafe experience that I think should not be missed. Go for food, or just drinks. Hope you go to at least one of them and sit at outside table if weather permits, for excellent people watching. (inside is OK too). Excellent traditional waiters. (and if you go there, be sure to go inside Eglise St. Germain which is nearby, and see the wonderful restoration work they have done -- beautiful)

others......
Breizh Odeon, on rue Odeon, is good for crepes.
A little further west are some of my favorite cafes & restaurants on Rue St. Dominique in the 7th - all have good food, and are moderate. highly recommended.
Cafe Constant
Les Cocottes
La Fontaine de Mars
Cafe de Mars - is at 11 rue Augereau -- just a block off of rue St. Dominique.
