Paris for Christmastime Hotels

My mom, sister and I were thinking Paris for Christmas. We're looking for a triple, we have a few hotels narrowed down around the main tourist sites. Thoughts? Hotel Brighton, Hotel Bachaumont, Hotel D'Orsay Esprit de France, Hotel Regina Louvre. I read a blog that said the area around the Vendome near Christmas was the most festive.

Also, any other Christmas recommendations that we should see? We are planning on doing the usual sites (first time to Paris). Or other day trips (we are planning on doing Versailles).

Thank you!

A holiday visit to the Galeries Lafayette department store (the one located behind the Opera Garnier) is a delight for the multistory atrium and the decorations for the season.

Christmas Markets are low key in Paris, but some do exist. I like strolling the one in St Germain des Pres, on the Boulevard St Germain, in the heart of that neighborhood where you will also find Cafe de Flore and Les Deux Magots, famous hangouts for the literati and artists of the 1920s (Picasso, Hemingway, etc). Good for people watching and a coffee or a drink...

A full-blown Christmas Market(s) experience would be a trip to Colmar and or Strasbourg.

Enjoy your time.
