Paris First Week of December

I am planning a short-notice trip to Paris as a surprise for my husband the first week of December. I know the days will be short and was thinking it might be nice to plan an evening out at the theatre/ballet/opera/etc. Can anyone point me in the direction of links where I can see what might be on?

Also, I have found an apartment rental on Quai de Montebello, overlooking Notre Dame, which looks nice but I'm concerned there might be an issue with traffic/street noise. Does anyone have thoughts about this?

Thanks!
Christina

The apartment is on the 4th floor, facing the river and Notre Dame. I have no idea about the windows.

The area is heavily trafficked, in tourist central, subject to all the noises a big city with a huge tourist population has. How noise tolerant are you? Only you can answer that.

To protect yourself, you should also check this forum and other web locations for information on the Paris crackdown on illegal short term apartment rentals, as you will be arriving after the Dec. 1st date for mandatory short term apt. rental registration,

The bells of Notre Dame would bother me considerably...
There will be a lot of traffic, due to sirens from police and ambulances coming from the Prefecture. Also a lot of bus noise.

The apartment should have a 13-digit registration number on the website. If it does not appear, it is an illegal apartment.

You have to subscribe to the Opera Bastille, if you want seats - very hard to get.
Sometimes there are productions at Opera Garnier during December.
This gives most of the productions in Paris, but you have to know what to look for:

After you secure your lodging. Here is something wonderful to do for an delightful evening in Paris.
The Christmas Markets will be in full swing all over Europe !! You don't need to shop - just wander around and see the sights and enjoy a mug of nice warm Glugwein.

Concert at Ste Chapelle ? I think they do Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" a lot. But I would prefer walking around (lights along the Seine at night!) ... and eating, of course. Or evening cruise.

We were able to buy tickets for the upcoming performance of La Bohème at Opéra Bastille, and we don't have a subscription. The website does, however, require you to create an account before paying with a credit card. Tickets for popular items do sell out early.

Creating an account at the Opera Bastille is the same thing as making a subscription.
The difference is that you will be notified of all the events at the Opera Bastille, and the Opera Garnier.
