Paris dinner recommendations for Christmas and New Years Eve

I will be in Paris for Christmas and New Years with my husband and our good friend. We are looking for suggestions for a restaurant that will take reservations for a late lunch / dinner on Christmas and a dinner for New Years Eve. We were thinking for New Years Eve to go to Restaurant Les Ombres, but weren't sure if it was worth it. I did look and online reservations are not yet available for December.

My husband and I hav both been to Paris for Christmas in the past, but our friend has not. Any other tips or suggestions for these 2 holidays would be appreciated. We did find the Christmas concert at La Sainte Chapelle, and will be booking that for after Christmas- has anyone been?

Thank you!

Relive the days of La Belle Époque for a dinner at Le Train Bleu. This excellent restaurant, dating back to 1900, in the Gare de Lyon offers good food in a unique atmosphere and is one of the few restaurants open and taking reservations on Christmas Day. I had Christmas dinner here with friends a few years ago and Le Train Bleu was a very Parisienne experience.

Thank you Phillip. I will go and check out this restaurant. By chance- are you familiar with Les Ombres or have any other tips for the holiday season while in Paris?

I'd recommend Le Coupe Chou - near the Pantheon. Its quite wonderful and the ambience is perfect for that time of year.

We've been to the concert at St Chapelle, just not at Christmas. The musicians we saw were top notch and the concertmaster a real crowd pleaser. It was very enjoyable.
Try to pick a performance that overlaps sunset. You get to see the stained glass illuminated as the sun sets, then finish the concert with the interior darkened. The visuals enhance the music.

Thank you Dave and Bob. . . . Dave- I have added this to my list to check out. Bob- I have just purchased the tickets as I am worried it might sell out.

My friends and I are going on Bustronome. It's a bus that drives you around and feeds you a gourmet meal. We're going for dinner on Christmas Eve. I hope it will be a tasty meal with good wine and a lovely drive through the city of light.

We've been in Paris for NYE several times. We prefer to have a great meal on Dec. 30 instead of on NYE. It's less crowded and better service. Then on NYE head out to Avenue des Champs-Élysées early enough to get a great place to stand to watch the celebration. Or hang out on one of the bridges.

Check out Paris by Mouth for Christmas Eve and Day. There are a couple of places that will have special menus for those days.
We'll be in Paris for Christmas this year. We're going to make a reservation at a restaurant for Eve. For Christmas Day dinner, we're taking our 12-year old daughter to the Eiffel Tower for a tasting menu. Kind of cheesy, but I think it will be fun and I've read good things.

thank you for the tips-
1. G2rryCee- have you done this bus before? It does sound interesting, but might do it for one of the nights we are there for an interesting experience.
2. Debbie- we are thinking we might make a reservation by the Eiffel Tower to be away from the crowds, but appreciate the tips about the crowds if we decide on being near the Champs...
3. Rerumsey- we will certainly check out Paris by Mouth
