Paris December

My husband and I will be visiting Paris for a quick four nights before heading back to the states the first week of December. Excited to see the city decorated for Christmas: We have stayed in the 4th E. in Marais as well as on the Ile St. Louis and have really enjoyed both. I have noticed that we do tend to dine closer to our stay location and spend our evenings within walking distance more often than not. Currently I have a boutique hotel booked on the Ile St. Louis again but I am thinking we might want to check out a new neighborhood. Any suggestions? I know Rick likes the Rue Cler. Would love feedback from those that visit Paris often as to a different neighborhood we might enjoy! Bonus if you have a nice boutique hotel suggestion.

This past December I spent 3 nights at Hotel Moliere, which was very close to most of what I wanted to see that trip; Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, the Christmas Market in the Tuileries, etc. I enjoyed my stay. it's also very close to a couple rail stations and a bus stop, there's a lot of places to eat in walking distance, and a good patisserie just across the street. Worked great for that trip.

Les Frenchies on YouTube have a couple of good videos on boutique hotels that you might enjoy checking out. They show the rooms, give a rundown on price, and tell you a little bit about the neighborhoods.

If it makes a difference, they are a middle-aged couple who do not have “wild and crazy” taste, which I think makes their take on thing “Rick Steves board-worthy.” :-)
