Paris; Churches of St-Germain-des-Pres and St-Sulpice area HOTEL recommendations?

Can you guys please share recommendations on hotels in the vicinity of the churches of St-Germain-des-Pres and St-Sulpice? I just heard how wonderful that area is and would like to check out available options. Thanks in advance!

Please note that it is Saint-Sulpice. Go here for their website. I could find no English version. You may have better luck.

I enjoyed two stays at Hotel Bonaparte on Rue Bonaparte several years ago. Once in the summer, and once in February. We booked directly through them for a better rate. I liked the location as it was right near Saint-Sulpice. The fountains were pretty, there was a Pierre Hermé right across the street, and as we walked towards the Seine we discovered our first Nespresso Boutique! That was fun, and since then we’ve sought them out in Barcelona, Lucerne, Milan, and Torino, to name a few. 😄☕️

It was a great location for lots of wonderful wandering all over central Paris. An added bonus in Hotel Bonaparte was the deep bathtub, great for a relaxing soak after our freezing February adventures. We only ate the hotel breakfast on our last day due to our departure time. Other days we had fun exploring the many nearby cafes and patisseries. We had a memorable late night cafe and mousse au chocolat at the cafe facing the church on Place Saint-Sulpice.

Dear GK- You heard correctly ; it is a wonderful area. I have stayed in the Hôtel Odéon Saint-Germain; Odéon Hôtel ;
and Hôtel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche: They are charming and well located to walking; buses; and Métro for tourism ; restaurants; and just enjoying Paris.

St Sulpice and Saint Sulpice are the same thing. St is an accepted abbreviated for Saint (the singular, masculine form). Other possible abbreviations for Saints, Sainte, Saintes are respectively Sts, Ste, and Stes.

As for hotels in this area, I might first recommend two that are so new, that they are not yet open, but will be soon: Bonsoir Madame on rue Madame and the newly refurbished Victoria Palace Hotel on rue Blaise Desgoffe (the name of which may change when it reopens). I have no idea yet of their classification or price per night. I might guess at 4 stars and around 200€ to 300€ per night for two people. Both of these hotels look to be very charming entries on the market.

Hotel Madison is very popular and an excellent option as would be Villa Madame and Hotel de l´Abbaye St Germain (currently closed). Hotel Relais St Sulpice is right behind St Sulpice. Just to the north is one of the finest hotels in the area, Relais Christine, which is currently closed.

I typically do not make hotel recommendations without budget guidance in euros but most of these suggestions will probably range from 200€ to 400€ per night depending upon season.

I might add that St Sulpice has 3 important mural pieces by Eugène Delacroix which are worth the diversion to see. The organ there is one of the finest in the world and I believe was where Camille Saint-Saëns debuted his Requiem. The Symphony No. 3 with organ is often performed at St Sulpice, it was earlier this year, and every Sunday at noon there is a free organ concert.

Hôtel Odéon Saint Germainenter link description here
Hôtel Relais Saint Sulpice

This area is sort hotel central so a budget would be a helpful limiter. I have stayed at other hotels in the general area but these two pop to mind because they are as close to Saint Sulpice as any place I have ever stayed. One of them literally is across the street from the church.

Gk - I’ve stayed in the Hotel Le Regent twice - loved the location and staff are lovely - however I would advise to book deluxe room as standards are really too small

Hotel Clément is a small boutique 2-star hotel located in front of the Saint Germain Market and a few blocks from St Sulpice. It is very near Saint-Germain des Prés with nearby cafes and shops and around the corner from the Mabillon Metro stop. It is also near the Odeon stop and Saint-Germain des Prés stop and church. Be aware that the basic rooms are small (as are many in Paris), but the location is excellent. We have stayed there several times and could see St. Sulpice from our window. https://hotelclementparis.com/en/hotel.html

We stayed at Hotel Residence des Artes last November. The Junior Suites are HUGE for a Parisian hotel. There is a sitting room with sofa, tv and desk. The bed is enormous and comfy. It includes a kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, stove and sink. Large bathroom with shower and separate tub. We felt like royalty. Location is perfect. The metro and RER are half a block away. Tons of shops and restaurants all around. Get cinnamon or cardamom rolls from Circus Bakery and you’ll experience a little taste and smell of heaven.
