Paris check-in time needed for return part of London – Avignon – London Eurostar journey?

How much time is required for UK citizens to check-in for a return Eurostar train journey returning them to London? I know that at least 60 minutes is called for on our outward journey, all planned for, but I’ve just noticed that Eurostar have booked us from Avignon back to London with only 1 hour 45 minutes between Gare de Lyon and Gare du Nord. That’s enough time to get to Gare du Nord – but is it enough for whatever check-in procedures are required for the return to UK? Since Eurostar picked the times for the Paris to London connecting train, I presumed it would be feasible. But, after reading the Seat 61 website, I’m wondering if we’ve a problem. Does anyone know?

Gare de Lyon and the Gare du Nord are connected non-stop by RER D. It's quick to move between the two stations.

With the RER D, it takes 8 minutes to get from Gare de Lyon to Gare du Nord. Depending on your arrival time, the maximum gap between trains is 9 minutes, and most times it is more like 5 or 6 minutes. With getting down and up at at the stations, it should be no more than 30 minutes between stations, so that leaves 1 1/4 hours to do the border processing. I am thinking that should be enough time.

You can buy the fare in advance when you arrive at Gare du Nord from the UK, so you won't have to be waiting to buy Metro tickets on the way back.
